Hello!

I'm Erin — a UX/UI Designer who brings curiosity and compassion to every project and interaction.

Naturally curious, I love digging into a task to enhance my understanding of the problem at hand. Naturally compassionate, my desire to find effective solutions will always be rooted in the user's wants and needs while still regarding my team's goals.

Past Experiences Shaping My Path

When I first heard the term "multipotentialite", I could immediately relate. Author Emilie Wapnick coined this term to describe people with "many interests, many jobs over a lifetime, and many interlocking potentials."

I have held various positions over the years. Each role has helped shaped my skillset.

I love that I have worn many hats, and I know I will continue to do so in my own way. But I also love finding something that I am so passionate about that I am ready to dig deep and go all in, which is how I feel about design.

*In 2021 my brother and I became the primary caretakers of our grandmother for the last 9 months of her life. It is not listed on my resume, as it is a unique situation, but it was one of the most important experiences / "jobs" I have ever had.

Why UX/UI Design?

I have always felt a pull between two sides of myself.

My creative, imaginative side loves delightful designs, brainstorming sessions, and visual storytelling. She doodles her dreams over breakfast, pours through old typography books, and spends too much time taking photos of flowers on her walks.

My organized, practical side loves efficiency and structure and helps guide decisions toward practical, usable, and accessible designs. She creates her own planners, has whiteboards all over her house, and gets way too excited about spreadsheets.

Finding harmony between these two sides took me a long time, but now I appreciate the dichotomy. I love that UX encourages me to tap into both.

Underlying all of this is also my deep love for people, highlighted by my curiosity and compassion. Both personally and professionally, I am often recharged when meeting new people, motivated by understanding and digging deeper, and inspired by others who are constantly teaching me new things.
